ESPN Temporarily Halts Several Studio Shows in Response to Sports Industry Shutdown

SportsCenter, Get Up!, First Take, and others will continue

ESPN is restructuring its studio programming slate as a result of coronavirus concerns. The network has halted production of its Washington D.C.-based studio shows, including Pardon the Interruption, as well as Around the Horn and High Noon (produced out of ESPN’s NYC Seaport studio) and Highly Questionable (produced out of ESPN’s Miami studio). ESPN is also putting its early morning edition of SportsCenter on hiatus.

ESPN will continue to produce live editions of Get Up!, First Take, and NFL Live, as well as regular SportsCenter editions throughout the day.

ESPN’s revised programming slate comes after the coronavirus pandemic began hitting studio-production operations for several sports broadcasters last week. Friday morning, Fox Sports announced it was suspending production of its FS1 daily studio shows until at least Friday, March 20. CBS Sports shows continued after many were displaced when CBS’s New York City Broadcast Center was shut down earlier this week. NBCSN and NBC Sports Regional Networks also continues to broadcast live, but NBC, NBCSN, and Golf Channel are leaning heavily into historical video and encore presentations of sporting events for replacement programming.

ESPN provided an updated programming slate reflecting these changes for March 16:
