MEDIAPRO Group Produces, Distributes Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

MEDIAPRO Group, the Spanish media group, will provide production services for a total of 49 of the 56 matches in the Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers and is handling the distribution of the signal for selected matches in the tournament, which commenced on Sept. 2 and runs through to late March 2022.

The Group produced all matches held in Canada and Jamaica during the September window of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifying and provided production services for the matches held in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama. MEDIAPRO is also responsible for the post-production and distribution of the international signal for all matches (excluding those held in Mexico), and provides tailored coverage for various domestic and international clients.

In Canada, MEDIAPRO Canada will return to Toronto’s BMO Field to produce the third home qualifier on Oct. 13, when Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team takes on Panama. As in the first two home qualifiers, MEDIAPRO Canada’s 4K/HD OB unit Odyssey will be onsite to produce 12-camera live coverage (10 cameras, including two Super Slo-Mo cameras, and two netcams, as well as a further three cameras for unilateral onsite content) for OneSoccer, the company’s dedicated soccer channel, which is available on Channel 980 on Telus’ Optik TV, on the fuboTV Canada platform and as a standalone service across all connected devices. The match will also air live on Sportsnet, the national sports broadcaster and on French- language sports broadcaster RDS.

OneSoccer will move its studio panel pitchside, with host Andi Petrillo and pundits Kristian Jack and Oliver Platt providing insights and analysis pre- and post-match and during the half-time break, while English- and French-language teams will be in the booth for play-by-play commentary in both official languages.

The MEDIAPRO Canada production team will then travel to Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium for the November window of FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers, when Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team faces Costa Rica (Nov. 12) and Mexico (Nov. 16). Both matches will be available on OneSoccer, available online and via Telus Optik TV and fuboTV Canada, as well as on Sportsnet and RDS.

The Concacaf Final Round of FIFA World Cup 2022 Qualifiers involves the three countries that emerged victorious in the second round of qualifying (Canada, El Salvador and Panama) as well as the top five countries in the Concacaf Ranking Index of Men’s National Teams: Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, Honduras and Jamaica.
