XOS, DVSport highlight Big Ten Video Meeting

The Big Ten Video Meeting held recently in Des Plaines, IL featured full participation from conference schools as well as a spirited discussion of Internet exchange.
Hosted by XOS Technologies in suburban Chicago the event was highlighted by presentations from DVSport, the Big Ten Network, and XOS Technologies and discussions of the first season of complete participation of internet exchange, the conference’s participation in CSVA (Collegiate Sports Video Association), as well as integrating Stats Crew into the exchange program.
In addition conference video rules were reviewed, edited and approved by the conference members and Ryan Dale of Purdue was appointed to be the Conference’s representative to CSVA for a two-year term.
John Palmgren of Penn State was unanimously voted Big Ten Video Coordinator of the Year. Rob Porteus of Wisconsin and Matt Harper of Northwestern each nominated Palmgren for his outstanding work in internet exchange as well as his complete body of service during his 38-plus years in State College. The 2007 season was Palmgren’s last, ending with a victory in the 2007 Outback Bowl over Tennessee.
“We take pride in being a member of the Big Ten. It is important for us to continue to improve and set the standard for the rest of the nation to live up to,” said Iowa’s Video Coordinator, Matthew Engelbert.
