Sportscasters looking for a new HD extreme slow-motion instant replay system will have a new option at NAB. I-Movix, a Belgium-based manufacturer, will introduce the SprintCam at booth C10141 and will demonstrate its ability to record 1080i images at upwards of 5,000 frames per second.
The system, which includes a Photron APX RS color camera, CCU, and remote control, records up to 37 seconds of material to a built-in memory in the camera.
“We’re totally compatible with the lenses on the market and only require one cable to transmit signals back to the EVS server,” says Cedric Leprince, I-Movis U.S. export consultant. “The only delay is the time needed for the production crew to choose the replay and we can playback one second after the recording.”
The system is shipping with Fujinon Digipower broadcast lenses and a SprintCam BC Server with 5000 FPS SprintCam BC Linux 64 bits software (no time limitation). The system supports EVS Advanced Video Server Protocol (AVSP) and is completely integrated into the broadcast network in stadiums and playgrounds.
