ZDF Upgrades Broadcast Facility With Clear-Com Eclipse Intercoms

Clear-Com
Communication Systems will supply nine Eclipse Digital Matrix intercom systems
to ZDF. ZDF along with the assistance of systems integrator Studio Hamburg
MCI, will install the Eclipse Matrix units in a new multi-studio broadcasting
facility to be built over the course of the next 36 months.
The
Eclipse Matrix units will be integrated in the facility in seven separate
installments. Among the first of these will be the creation of two studios, one
of which will feature three Eclipse Matrix units linked over redundant fibre
lines, creating a common communications environment whereby all ZDF employees
can keep in contact from the same location.
“The
Clear-Com Eclipse Matrix is for us the ideal intercom system for the ZDF
project,” says Max Below, head of purchase and product sales for Studio Hamburg
MCI. “Its large number of ports and relative ease of connectivity with
other systems in the studio make the process of creating the type of
communications environment sought by ZDF much easier for us, allowing our team
to deliver a system offering truly limitless connectivity options.”
“We are
proud to be a part of this prestigious and forward-thinking project,” says
Graham Ramsey, Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Support, Clear-Com.
“ZDF has always been at the forefront of broadcast innovation in
Germany. The creation of a central communications hub is yet another
example of its efforts to leverage advanced broadcast technology for the
ultimate benefit of its viewers. It is an honor to be chosen to assist in
ZDF’s mission.”
