In addition, TVU has supplied 3G and 4G data cards with dedicated QoS to ensure that broadcasters can transmit professional quality HD footage. TVUPack’s resilient HD transmission capabilities, superior picture quality, and ease of use make the solution a perfect fit for newsgathering organizations looking to expand their live coverage capabilities.
“Many of the largest broadcasters in the world rely on TVUPack to broadcast live footage of important events, and the London Olympics is just another example of TVU’s global footprint with broadcasters. TVUPack enables top broadcasters to bring live broadcast-quality HD video from anywhere back to their studio hassle free and cost-effectively,” said Paul Shen, CEO TVU Networks. “TVU has developed a large portfolio of communication, video compression, error correction and network field technologies. Combined with TVUPack’s sophisticated automation and innovative industrial design, this in turn enables our customers to deliver a resilient, broadcast HD quality picture, even in challenging network conditions that result from the strain of added traffic on the network.”
Already in use by hundreds of leading broadcast organizations around the world, TVUPack gives broadcasters satellite and microwave TV truck functionality in a lightweight backpack. TVUPack is the original one button operation backpack, is simple to use and provides broadcasters with low-latency, HD-quality signal that enables them to broadcast live at any time and from any location. TVUPack has been used to deliver professional-quality live HD footage of a number of important events including the London Olympics, U.S. presidential election primaries, the World Cup, April’s Friends of Syria conference, and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s recent tour of the Middle East and North Africa.
TVUPack is powered by TVU’s proprietary Inverse StatMux technology, which dynamically segments a live video signal and transmits the segments through multiple independent 3G/4G/WiFi/WiMax connections, and the industry’s first TVU variable bit-rate (VBR) technology, which dynamically adjusts the compression ratio according to the total available bandwidth. TVUPack also incorporates Qualcomm RaptorQ advanced forward error correction and an enhanced H.264 encoder. As a result, TVUPack is able to deliver unmatched stability, resiliency and picture quality – even in the most challenging network environments.
TVUPack will be on display at IBC 2012 for broadcasters looking to expand their live ENG capabilities.
