Ooyala Issues Its Q3 Global Video Index

Ooyala has released its Q3 Global Video Index.

The report highlights a substantial rise in tablet and web viewing. According to Ooyala, after the iPad 3 was released in March 2012, the share of tablet viewing jumped 26%. Since that time, the overall share of tablet video viewing has grown 90%.

Ooyala’s Q3 report reveals that tablet owners continue to spend more time with long-form, premium video content like movies and TV shows. In Q3 alone, 71% of total tablet video viewing time was spent watching videos 10 minutes or longer and 30% of total tablet viewing time was spent watching content over an hour long.
