Azzurro HD Supports DirecTV’s Dan Patrick Show Throughout Super Bowl Week
Story Highlights
Azzurro HD, a leading New York Metro Area provider of all-digital HD transport and switching services, was recently commissioned to support the Dan Patrick Show, which hosted a series of live Super Bowl XLVIII preview shows from New York City’s Pier 40 rooftop studio Monday through Friday leading up to the main event.
The provisional studio was outfitted with Two Temporary HD Transmit and Receive Circuits between Azzurro HD and Pier 40 located on the Hudson River. Azzurro additionally installed a 40 Mbps ASI Circuit from the DirecTV Facility in Los Angeles to Azzurro HD in order to deliver program return of the show as well as produced packages.
Azzurro HD also installed an HD Circuit directly from the DirecTV New York Studios back to Pier 40 so that edited packages that were being produced at the New York Studio could be delivered straight back to the Pier Studio.
“Azzurro HD has been with us from the beginning of the start of the Dan Patrick Show and they have proved time and time again to be valuable partner in our productions,” said John Ward SVP, Content Operations at DIRECTV. :Their technical acumen is only surpassed by the personal touch that all of their staff give to a project. Our New York production was a breeze from the transmission side – Azzurro made it all turnkey!”
Prior to this supplementary support leading up to Super Bowl, Azzurro HD has been continuously under contract with DirecTV to provide transmission facilities from the Dan Patrick Show’s Permanent Studio to Azzurro HD’s Network Operations Center (located at 32 Avenue of The Americas, NYC) with on pass to DirecTV’s LABC Studios in Los Angeles over a dedicated 40 Mbps ASI Path. Azzurro HD also supports local HD Circuits from the DirecTV New York Studio with on pass to the DirecTV LABC Studios in Los Angeles over the same path.
