Syracuse Football Completes Technology Upgrade with 8K Solutions
8K Solutions, the leading provider of design, integration services, and video coaching technology for collegiate and professional sports organizations, has just completed a full technology upgrade for the Syracuse University football program. The upgrade included the creation of a remote controlled camera system for the new Ensley indoor practice field, a workflow retrofit, and full facelift for the video office.
The redesigned video office optimizes the space for digital workflow and provides the most efficient environment for the video staff. They work with four remote cameras independently to ingest and edit video content into an XOS Thunder system.
Bob White, Vice President of 8K Solutions, and Austin Beehner, of Syracuse Football announced today that the new system is complete and ready for use this season.
“The video quality and viewing angles give us a great teaching tool for our players, and the design of our video room is our technology showcase for recruiting,” says Scott Shafer, Head Football Coach,
“The team was able to have the entire system installed, tested, and trained for the start of spring ball,” says Pete Sala, Interim Athletic Director. “This is truly a remarkable accomplishment when you consider the collaboration and coordination required between the campus’ electrical and IT teams, Syracuse video staff, and the 8K Solutions project team.”
“The entire project really exceeded our expectations in every way, from the camera functionality to the redesign of the video room,” said Austin Beehner, Syracuse Football Video Director. “After using the system for a month, we honestly wouldn’t change a thing. The 8K Solutions design captured all of our needs.”
